How to do Basic Cleanup At Home?

Who doesn’t like to have clear and beautiful skin? We all do right? But the thing is that no one is born with perfect skin and there are also certain external aggregators that take a toll on your skin’s health over time. Having said that, not all people have the time in the world for visiting a spa on a regular basis to make sure that their skin is in the perfect condition. For instance, you may opt for dark circle treatment, but what about maintaining it on a regular basis?

A cleanup regimen at home can be your perfect answer to maintaining a healthy skin. Here are the steps that can help you:

  1. Cleanse Properly – Cleansing your face is the first step to a home cleanup. You can either opt for a gentle face wash or a cleanser. Post this, pat (and not rub) the skin dry using a soft face towel. Also, when you wash your face, make it a point to use lukewarm and not hot water as it effectively dries out the skin. You can also take an extra step to take cleansing milk on a cotton pad to wipe your face and then, unclog the pores to remove excess dirt.
  2. Steaming – Have a steamer at home? Use it to steam your face for at least 5 minutes and start wiping the face with a facial tissue. This is an amazing step, especially if you have oily skin. After the steam, take an ice cube and rub it on your face in circular motions. This will help you tighten the pores.
  3. Scrubbing – Use a gentle face scrub and massage your face till it dries out. This step will eliminate all the dead skin cells. Try this step for an approx. of 3-4 minutes and leave it for another 3 minutes then wash it off.
  4. Apply Face Pack – Depending on the skin type, make it a point to apply a moisturizing face pack that can make your skin soft and supple and at the same time, help you improve your skin tone. There are many face packs and even face sheets available on the market. Alternatively you can apply a face pack made at home and get the desired effect.
These are some of the things that ensure that your skin is healthy and happy in the long run. For more such skin care tips and tricks, keep visiting this page!!

Understanding Dark Circles Under the Eyes

Ever woken up to find dark circles under the eyes and trying every rule in the book to conceal them? Well, it happens to the best of us. The baggy eyes, dark rings under the eyes make us appear pale, ill or odd. Even though it may seem like a cosmetic issue, there are many underlying reasons of the same, understand which is important before you opt for dark circle treatment. Let us take a look at some of the pointers to get a better understanding:

  1. The skin under the eyes is thin – The skin under your eyes is way thinner as compared to the skin elsewhere. Hence, it is more transparent. This way, the blood vessels underneath the skin is more clearly visible. Sometimes, the skin under the eyes gets more transparent when it is pale as a result of pregnancy or anemia. This makes the blood underneath the skin more blue than red because blue light is better transmitted by the skin than red. Hence, you will find the skin around the eyes will appear bluish, greenish, brownish, depending on the skin color of the person.

  1. Excessive Melanin in the Skin – Another reason for dark circles under the eyes is hyperpigmentation, which is the excess deposit of melanin (a dark pigment). This is a common feature for people belonging to the South Asian or Mediterranean regions. Also, it is a genetic condition and has no relation to any illness or age for that matter. It can be treated with a cream containing a kind of bleach.

  1. Shadows due to puffiness or edema – Any kind of fluid retention can also cause the skin to puff around the eyes and thereafter leave a shadow below. The puffiness can be a result of allergies, illnesses, eating excessive salt and so on and so forth.

  1. Lack of elasticity – Sometimes, the skin may also sag into a pouch-type shape due to age and free-radicals from the sun. This destroys collagen and elastin present in the skin. Therefore, the sagging skin becomes thin in various places, looking darker.

These are some of the underlying reasons for dark circles under the eyes and as you can see, they are very different from lack of sleep or stress. Have any more points to add?
